The Comet Optical Meter Reader is a device that can be attached to existing gas, electricity and water meters to capture meter data optically, process it locally, and transmit it over any communication network, via cable or wireless (e.g. pulse, serial, M-Bus, low-power RF, GSM/GPRS). The Comet Optical Meter Reader permits utilities to monitor the delivery of their product and detect possible anomalies, in real time if desired.
